Tuesday, October 27, will be “TASTE ‘n Good!” as St. Andrew Catholic School presents Taste of the Town 2009 from 4pm – 10pm at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Poised as the Grand Strand’s largest culinary/social event of the year and Myrtle Beach’s original food festival, the 26th Annual Taste of the Town will include over 50 area restaurants serving up freshly prepared appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Each booth will offer delectable “Tapas-style” items from their menus for $1 - $4 each.
Restaurants will compete for the following awards: Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Booth Design, and People’s Choice & Kid’s Choice awards for favorite entrée and favorite dessert. Taste of the Town will present the 2nd Annual Community Crusader Award to an individual within the restaurant industry who exudes qualities of excellent character in living a life of service beyond self.
Entertainment has expanded and appeals to all age groups! Live entertainment will be featured to include tribute artists from Dino’s TV Variety Show (4:30pm – 5:30pm), the Soul Function band (8:00pm – 10:00pm), and other surprise entertainers.
New this year: Taste of the Town is excited to introduce the event’s first-ever Wine Patio, which will be similar to the popular Autumn Ale House beer garden featured annually by Better Brands, Inc. A Silent Auction will provide an opportunity for everyone to bid on gift baskets loaded with restaurant gift certificates and other cool items.
100,000 square feet of space in the convention halls will allow plenty of seating and ample room to mingle, and ATM machines will be available for your convenience. The Convention Center has expanded its rear parking lot, and additional parking will also be available across the street from the Convention Center in the location of the former Myrtle Square Mall.
$4 Advance Admission Tickets can be purchased at all HTC locations and St. Andrew Catholic School at 3601 N. Kings Hwy. in Myrtle Beach. Admission is $5 at the door. Children 14 and under will be admitted free with adult. Food tickets are $1 and will be sold at the event.
Taste of the Town is proudly sponsored by: HTC, McDonald’s, and WBTW News 13, and all proceeds will benefit St. Andrew Catholic School.
